A Frozen themed birthday party seems like the perfect winter kids event decor for this year! You could set up a warm hot cocoa table served with fluffy marshmallows, while matching the striking blue colour themes of the very popular movie to the icy weather. For many young kids who have not had the opportunity to celebrate their birthday with a Frozen theme, I believe that this summer is the perfect time to do so. Putting together activities, food and décor for a Frozen party is a lot of fun! Here are some ideas to help you turn an ice-cold theme into a fun summer party:
Hire a slush puppy machine
This is probably the easiest way to ensure that all the kids at the birthday party drink enough liquid. Serve tasty blue slush puppies at the party.
Dress up water bottles
I found this really cool idea on pinterest: water bottles decorated to look like little snowmen. This is an easy, creative way to get kids to stay hydrated on a hot day.
Keep food simple
There are a lot of foods that tie into the snowy theme, such as:
- Ice-cream cones
- Carrots and dip
- Blue frosted cupcakes
- Blue fudge (see recipe here)
Blow up some balloons
You can use balloons to completely change the appearance of a venue at a very low price! You can make balloon walls, pillars and centre pieces to match your theme.
Prepare some fun activities
Make sure you prepare fun activities to keep all the kids happy. Here are a few examples:
- Pin the carrot-nose on Olaf
- Dress up
- Water balloon fight (a nice alternative for a “summer snowball fight”)
- Ice-block-on-spoon race (as opposed to the egg-on-spoon race)
- Ice-painting with Epsom salts ( see example here)
